“I am a multiple myeloma patient. I have been taking Revlimid for eight years. Thankfully, I am employed fulltime, and my medical insurance has been wonderful in covering the cost of all of my myeloma treatments, and especially the obscene cost of Revlimid. Over the eight years I have taken Revlimid, my insurance company has paid out a king’s ransom to cover the cost. In two years I hope to be retired and on Medicare, and although there are Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage that will pay for Revlimid, the out-of-pocket cost to me promises to be very high. I am writing this today after having learned about David Mitchell’s class action lawsuit against Celgene, the company that makes the drug that is keeping me alive, but also the company that is making obscene profits at the same time.”
