“I suffered a back injury playing ice hockey at an Ivy League University and underwent a spinal fusion in 2008 to stabilize and fuse together two of my vertebrae using titanium rods and screws. In the last 8 years since the surgery, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and suffer from chronic radiating nerve pain. These conditions interfere with my every day life and make being a third year law student even more difficult, my pain management doctor prescribes Lyrica, but without a special coupon, the cost for a one month supply is $750.00! This is outrageous for anybody to pay, let alone a student without any income. Without the coupon, it’s just not affordable and I’d have to live without it. Additionally, the coupon is only valid for a small window each month, so I’m left scrambling to get my prescription renewed in time to make the deadline. It’s exhausting, tiresome and extremely unnecessary.”
