“My husband was diagnosed 11 year ago with a slow, growing blood cancer, due to a genetic defect. He was 38. It took us 2 years of debilitating sickness before he was correctly diagnosed. His treatment requires daily injections of fondaparinux sodium. If we lost insurance, on average, the daily, lifesaving medication required to keep him healthy and working would cost $5200 per month! This is the only medication available at this time that keeps him healthy enough to work, be a father and stay alive.”
