“I never really had to think about drug prices until I started having seizures. A year later, I have a diagnosis of partial-complex epilepsy and I have to take my medication twice a day, every day. Without insurance it would cost me $600 a month to live a seizure-free life, but even with insurance, my costs recently went up to $150 a month. As a young professional and newlywed with student debt, paying for my medication means sacrificing other things — like my medical bills, or saving money for my future family.”
